ScarTrack — Scar Care Log
Getting Started
How do I add a scar?
Open the Scars tab and tap "Add Scar". Pick the origin (C-section, abdominoplasty, breast surgery, Mohs/excision, top surgery, burn, keloid/hypertrophic, or other linear post-op), set the body location, and enter the surgery or injury date. ScarTrack auto-selects the matching maturation protocol and places your scar in the right phase.
What do the daily tasks on the dashboard mean?
Your "Today" screen shows the tasks from your protocol — typically a silicone target (hours per day) and a massage cadence (sessions per day). Tap each one to mark it complete. Doing them consistently builds your adherence streak, which is the single biggest driver of a better scar.
What are the maturation phases?
Scars mature through inflammatory, proliferative, and remodeling phases over many months. ScarTrack shows where your scar is on that timeline (Day X of ~Y) and gives phase-appropriate, non-diagnostic guidance for what matters most right now.
Photos & Measurement
How does guided photo capture work?
When you take a weekly photo, ScarTrack overlays a faint "ghost" of your previous shot plus framing, distance, and lighting prompts. Lining the new photo up with the ghost makes your timeline genuinely comparable — so you can see slow change you'd miss in a normal camera roll.
How does measurement work, and is it accurate?
Place a scale marker (a known-size card or QR tag) in frame and ScarTrack calibrates pixels to centimeters to track length and area. On iPhone 12 Pro and later, an optional LiDAR path is available. Measurement is a relative trend for the same scar over time, not a clinical-grade measurement — it's designed to show direction (getting smaller), not an exact medical value.
Do I need a special ruler or marker?
The scale-reference path works on every iPhone — any flat object of known size (a standard card or a printed QR/scale tag) placed next to the scar works. LiDAR-based depth is a bonus on Pro models but isn't required.
Protocols & Reminders
Can I adjust my targets or pause a week?
Yes. In the Protocol/Plan screen you can adjust targets such as daily silicone hours, and you can pause a week (for example during travel or illness) without losing your overall progress. Per-scar reminder customization is a Premium feature.
I missed a day and lost my streak. Did I ruin my progress?
No. A missed day resets the streak counter, but your scar's maturation and your overall adherence history are intact. The streak is just a nudge — the best thing to do is simply log today and keep going. ScarTrack never shames you for a missed day.
How do I export a report for my surgeon?
Open the Reports tab and tap "Generate report". ScarTrack builds a surgeon-ready PDF with your photo timeline, adherence summary, measurement trend, and protocol dates. You can also export a CSV. Share it via the iOS share sheet. Export is a Premium feature.
Free vs Premium
What's free vs Premium?
Free: 1 active scar, a basic protocol template, silicone and massage reminders and streak, the guided photo timeline, and the last 30 days of history. Premium: unlimited scars and all protocol templates, measurement tools and side-by-side photo compare, full multi-month adherence and trend charts, per-scar custom reminders, and surgeon-ready PDF and CSV export.
Is there a free trial?
Yes — the Premium Annual plan ($29.99/year) includes a 7-day free trial. You'll only be charged at the end of the trial. Cancel anytime in your Apple ID subscription settings before the trial ends. Monthly Premium is $5.99/month.
How do I restore my purchase?
Open Settings inside the App and tap "Restore Purchases". This re-applies your active subscription if you've previously purchased one on this Apple ID.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Open the iOS Settings app, tap your name at the top, then tap Subscriptions. Find ScarTrack and tap Cancel Subscription. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
Privacy
Where do my photos go?
They stay on your iPhone. ScarTrack does not upload photos to any server, and there's no account. Everything is stored in the App's private sandbox and works fully offline. See the Privacy Policy for full details.
What permissions does the app need?
Camera (only when you take a guided photo), Photo Library (only for photos you choose to import or reports you save), and Notifications (optional, for your silicone, massage, photo, and milestone reminders). No location, contacts, or microphone access.
